The health crisis that we are going through is upsetting predictions and forecast scenarios for mobility worldwide. Trends are evolving rapidly and differently than expected. Some effects we had taken for granted have slowed down while others we would have deemed less important before have accelerated. COVID-19 has a significant impact on economic and societal change.
We need to find answers to many questions: Will advanced urbanization still be a reality in the years to come? Does the evolution of digital technologies lead us to work from anywhere in the world? Will we still be able to move around without concern? Which mobility mix will be the right one for safe, healthy and sustainable transport? What will be the role of rail in getting around tomorrow?
In order to offer answers in line with the expectations and requirements of this new world and in line with changing trends, our solutions, and particularly our trains, must be adapted and become an active actor of this change.
As a world leader in the field of mobility and sustainable mobility, we have a great responsibility towards our customers, their passengers and their employees. Our mission is to restore trust and promote Healthier MobilityTM around the world.
In line with the work undertaken and to accelerate the development of initiatives in the area of health and well-being, our innovation experts have pooled their skills and key resources during these times of crisis. Relying on in-depth scientific knowledge and the ability to mobilise rapidly, the teams create, design and develop innovative solutions for hygiene, health and safety, to offer the world mobility solutions desperately needed today. For safer and healthier mobility, we are developing a portfolio of solutions applicable now grouped into four areas: Cleaning and disinfection, contact surfaces, air treatment, contactless ticketing and passenger flow.
As a contribution to the webinar, Stéphane Feray-Beaumont, Vice-President Innovation & Smart Mobility of the Alstom group, will share the company’s vision in response to the crisis. He will help us understand of how digital technologies contribute to the dimensioning and implementation of concrete solutions on board trains and in stations; solutions that guarantee optimal transport conditions for the passenger, while limiting the impact on the environment and ensuring the reliability of the equipment.
